Equal Opportunities

Boys and girls in schools deserve the same opportunities. Why should girls only get to do things that boys cant? These attitudes will only get worse over the years, which is why it is essential for boys and girls to experience the same things/opportunities. Schools need to start offering the same things to all its pupils, which will not only bring people together but let pupils express themselves!

WHY?

In most schools there are stereotypical presumptions based on gender. For example, a common stereotype for boys in schools is their favourite subject is PE, not ‘girly’ subjects like Art or Textiles. Most boys are expected to be interested in a sport, and the most common stereotype is boys liking football.
A common stereotype for girls in schools is they are meant to wear skirts. What about girls who aren’t so ‘girly’? Another stereotype is girls are interested in subjects like Food Tech, not ‘boyish’ subjects like Woodwork.
These stereotypical presumptions are old fashioned and unrealistic, and schools need to change for the better. Every pupil is different and unique, and schools need to rethink things like uniform and subjects.
